Walter Signature

Dr. Walter Fischer is a neurosurgeon, neuroscientist, and associate professor of Neuroscience at Lund University.

His research has included brain tumor biology and immunotherapy, neuroimmunology, and the interaction between the nervous and immune systems, leading to a growing interest in the gut–brain axis and the influence of the intestinal microbiome on human physiology.

As CEO of Gutfeeling Labs, he combines neuroscience, systems biology, and precision biomarker analysis to explore how SIBO, intestinal permeability, microbial metabolites, and lifestyle factors affect immune function, neurological health, metabolic resilience, and healthy aging. His vision is to translate emerging microbiome science into practical tools for preventive and personalized healthcare.
