    Selma’s story

    “Hi,

My name is Selma. I am 25 years old and work as a dental nurse in Lund. My digestive problems started three years ago after an extremely stressful period at work and socially.

I experienced several episodes of diarrhea every day, nausea, bloating and a sudden intolerance to certain foods. Fish, especially salmon, which was my favorite food, made me particularly unwell.

Many, many times I thought, ‘If this is what my life is going to be like, is it even worth living?’

I sought help from primary care, saw several different doctors and had numerous blood tests, a colonoscopy, gastroscopy and ultrasound to rule out conditions such as ulcerative colitis and gallstones. No clear cause of my problems was found.

I tried Egazil, a medication used for cramping and pain in the gastrointestinal tract, but it did not help me at all.

One day, a colleague suggested that I have my gut microbiota analyzed to see whether I had ‘bad bacteria’ in my gut. The analysis did not show the presence of these bacteria.

Gutfeeling Labs then suggested that the cause might possibly be too many bacteria in the small intestine.

I tried GutClear® and noticed a difference after just a few days. I still experienced nausea while taking GutClear®, but this subsided after the final sachet on day 10.

Since then, I have felt much better and my stomach now feels like it is working with me!

I can now follow the dietary advice I received together with my analysis from Gutfeeling Labs. I have also eaten fish, especially salmon, several times without any problems – both oven-baked and hot-smoked – and I am very happy about that 🙂

There have been a few isolated days over a couple of months when my stomach has acted up a little, but that is probably normal for everyone and feels completely manageable.

I have now decided to take GutClear® from time to time as a preventive measure, to keep my stomach in check.

A huge, huge thank you for all your help. You saved my life!”

    Best wishes,
    Selma

What can we learn from Selma’s story?

Selma’s experience illustrates how difficult it can be to understand recurring digestive symptoms when several medical examinations do not identify a clear underlying cause.

    Her story includes:

    • recurring digestive problems
    • sudden food intolerance
    • difficulty eating fish and salmon
    • medical investigations
    • gut microbiota analysis
    • possible bacterial overgrowth in the small intestine
    • her personal experience after using GutClear®

It is important to distinguish between a personal experience and scientific evidence. Selma’s results do not mean that GutClear® will have the same effect on everyone.

    Can SIBO cause digestive symptoms?

SIBO stands for Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth and refers to an increased amount of bacteria in the small intestine.

SIBO can be associated with digestive symptoms such as:

    • Bloating
    • Gas
    • Abdominal pain
    • Diarrhea or constipation
    • Changes in bowel habits

Selma’s story involves a possible bacterial overgrowth in the small intestine, but her experience should not be used to diagnose SIBO in other people.

If you have recurring digestive symptoms, it is important to discuss them with a healthcare professional and investigate possible underlying causes rather than assuming that SIBO is responsible.

Can GutClear® help with digestive problems?

GutClear® is a dietary supplement developed to support a balanced gut environment.

Selma describes noticing a difference after a few days and says that her nausea subsided after the final sachet on day 10.

This is Selma’s personal experience and should not be considered a guarantee that other people will experience the same results.

Selma’s results – in her own words

The main change Selma describes is that she felt her digestion was working better and that she was later able to eat fish and salmon again without experiencing the same problems.

“Since then, I have felt much better and my stomach now feels like it is working with me!”

For Selma, GutClear® became part of her personal journey towards better day-to-day digestive comfort.

Do you experience similar digestive problems?

If you frequently experience bloating, diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain or other recurring digestive symptoms, it can be valuable to investigate what may be contributing to them.

SIBO is one possible factor, but digestive symptoms can have many different causes. If your symptoms are persistent or recurring, discuss them with a healthcare professional.
