How did Julia find out about SIBO?

After searching for answers to her recurring digestive problems, Julia came across information about SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth). She discovered that SIBO could be one possible explanation for several of the symptoms she was experiencing.

It is important to remember that digestive symptoms can have many different causes and that SIBO is only one possible explanation. A medical assessment is important to rule out underlying health problems, particularly when symptoms are persistent or recurring.

    “Hi everyone!

Here is my summary of how I experienced your powder, because I am both happy and fascinated by it.

During the first week I took the powder, I felt incredibly calm in my body. I often get a gnawing feeling in my stomach that I want to soothe by eating lots of different foods, without it actually helping. After GutClear, I experienced such an unusual feeling that I almost didn’t feel like eating anything that week. Of course, I still ate, but I no longer had the feeling that I needed to eat excessively. It felt like a relief.

Now I hardly experience any cravings at all, but I feel that I have a ‘normal’ feeling of hunger. I feel more satisfied after eating. Also, if I do overeat, I don’t experience the same kind of ‘hangover’ from it as I did before.

What fascinated me even more is that I have always developed small, raised red spots on my face that itch slightly after eating sweets, cookies, ice cream or similar foods. I haven’t had them since taking the powder, even though I have happily eaten both ice cream and sweets. It probably wasn’t a good idea to indulge, but I was so happy that I ‘made the most of it’, so to speak. No more indulging now, haha.

Another amazing thing: six months ago, I suddenly became allergic to avocado and Jerusalem artichoke. I had previously been able to eat both freely without any problems. My throat would itch as soon as I took a bite. After taking the powder, I have been able to eat both avocado and Jerusalem artichoke without experiencing the itching in my throat.

One thing I’m not completely sure about is whether it has anything to do with the powder or whether I have simply become fitter through exercising more. Before, I sometimes had difficulty breathing when I went running. It came and went, and even though I was fit, I experienced it from time to time. Strangely enough, since taking the powder, I haven’t had any difficulty breathing even once. I have been able to keep running without my breathing getting in the way.

And the final thing is that I can now drink coffee without it coming back up into my throat and causing unpleasant sensations in my stomach.

I just thought you might enjoy reading about my positive experience with your product, which you have worked hard to develop and research. I really hope this product becomes available within healthcare.

    All the best,
    Julia”**

    Frequently asked questions

Can SIBO be associated with food intolerances?

Some people with SIBO experience increased sensitivity to certain foods. Symptoms such as bloating, gas and abdominal discomfort are commonly reported. However, food intolerances and food reactions can have many different causes, including food allergies. Persistent or recurring symptoms should therefore be medically assessed.

Can stress affect the digestive system?

Yes. Long-term stress can affect intestinal motility, digestion and communication between the brain and gut through the vagus nerve. Changes in these processes may contribute to digestive symptoms such as bloating, abdominal pain, constipation or diarrhoea.

Stress can be an important factor in digestive problems, but it is not the only possible cause.

Is GutClear® a solution for SIBO?

GutClear® was developed to support a balanced gut environment and is used by many people as part of a broader approach that may include dietary and lifestyle changes.

If you suspect SIBO or have persistent digestive symptoms, you can test for SIBO with our Four-in-One Test.

    Can SIBO cause sugar cravings?

Some people with SIBO report increased cravings for sugar or refined carbohydrates. Research is not conclusive about why this may occur, but changes in the gut microbiota and the way food is fermented in the gut may be possible contributing factors.

At the same time, sugar cravings can be influenced by many other factors, including diet, sleep and stress. Small intestinal fungal overgrowth (SIFO) has also been suggested as a possible factor, although the evidence is not conclusive.

When should you seek medical care for digestive symptoms?

Contact a healthcare professional if your digestive symptoms are persistent, frequently recurring or affecting your everyday life.

Seek medical attention if you experience severe abdominal pain, blood in your stool, unexplained weight loss, fever or other serious symptoms. A medical assessment can help rule out other underlying conditions and ensure that you receive appropriate care.
